The House

A single-story beach house in Crown Point, on the calm side of Mission Bay, three bedrooms, two baths, and a garage stocked with everything a family needs for a week at the beach.

The layout

The heart of the house is a long open great room under a vaulted white plank ceiling. A gas fireplace and a 65" Roku TV sit at one end, the dining table in the middle, and the kitchen opens straight onto both. French doors lead out to the back patio, so the inside and the backyard tend to run together all day.

Each bedroom has its own heater and air conditioner with a remote control by the light switch. A Graco Pack 'n Play travel crib is always onsite for babies.

Bathrooms

Two full bathrooms, one with a tiled tub-and-shower combination, the other with a glass walk-in shower. Both have hair dryers, and we stock shampoo, conditioner and body soap.

Kitchen

A gas stove and oven, dishwasher, a microwave with an air fryer setting, and a double-door refrigerator with water on the inside. A second fridge in the garage handles the overflow and makes ice, which matters more than you would think on a beach trip.

Small appliances include a blender, mixer, toaster, rice cooker, hot water maker, coffee maker and grinder. See the full kitchen and BBQ inventory.

Outside

The backyard has a flagstone patio with a gas fire pit and Adirondack chairs, an artificial turf lawn that survives sandy feet, and a gas BBQ with two side burners. There is a small portable charcoal BBQ in the garage you are welcome to carry down to the beach.

The garage

The garage is the reason families come back. Inside you will find:

Adult bikes and kids scooters (keys in the blue lockbox, ask for the code)
A beach wagon, beach chairs and a shelf of buckets, nets and beach games
A mini BBQ to carry to the beach
A full-size washer and dryer, with detergent
The second refrigerator and ice maker
Parking for one car, plus an EV charger

Beach towels live in the hall closet, so the bathroom towels can stay in the bathroom.

Working from the house

There are two desks, one in the master bedroom, one in the great room, and a printer on the network. The WiFi is fast enough for video calls.

Getting in

Entry is keyless. Two days before you arrive you will get a code that activates at your check-in time. Check-in is from 4:00 PM, check-out is by 10:00 AM, and early or late options can sometimes be arranged for a fee.
