Before you arrive

Read through this guide and let us know if you have any questions before you travel.

Check-in

Normal check-in is between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Two days before arrival you will receive instructions for entering the house. Entry is keyless, you will be sent a code through your booking platform.

If you need to arrive later than 7:00 PM, just let us know. Early check-in is sometimes available for a fee and needs to be requested in advance.

Locking up

Please keep the house locked and the street-facing garage door closed when you are not nearby. The house is beach facing with a lot of foot and car traffic, and we have stocked it with great gear that we only want to share with you and your group.

Parking & the garage

There is plenty of free street parking, plus a garage that fits one car. The garage code is the same as the main house code.

Side door access

1. Enter the side door of the garage from the backyard using your code.
2. Step in and turn on the light using the switch on the right-hand wall.
3. Take two steps into the garage and turn around. You will see the garage push-button switch on the other side of the entry door, toward the top right of the door frame.
4. Push the button to open the garage.

Remote control

A remote control for the garage door is available during your stay, stored right next to the push button. You are welcome to keep it in your vehicle. Please return it before check-out, there is a fee if it is lost.

App access (beta)

We are running a beta program for app access to the garage. Download MyQ, then message your host with your email and phone number to request access.

WiFi

The home has fast internet. The network name is CrownPointJewell. Your password is included in the check-in message from your host, and is posted inside the house.

Heating & air conditioning

Each bedroom and the main living area has its own heater and air conditioner. A remote control for the wall unit is located in each room, near the light switch. Select heat or cooling, then set your temperature.

The great room also has a gas fireplace that can be lit manually for extra warmth.

TVs & streaming

There are three Roku smart TVs:

All of the remotes are interchangeable. Sign in to your own streaming accounts to watch, and remember to sign out before you check out. New to Roku? We wrote a short guide to the remote.

Music

There is a Sonos speaker in the great room. Download the Sonos app, join the house WiFi, and the app will find the speaker automatically.

Kitchen

The kitchen is well stocked with a gas stove and oven, a dishwasher, a microwave with an air fryer option, and a double-door fridge with water on the inside left. There is a bonus fridge in the garage that also makes ice.

Small appliances include a blender, mixer, toaster, rice cooker, hot water maker, coffee maker and coffee grinder. See the full kitchen and BBQ inventory for everything that is here.

BBQ

There is a gas BBQ with two outside burners in the backyard.

1. Open the double doors and locate the red dial.
2. Rotate the red dial to turn on the gas.
3. Turn the ON button, which lights the dials.
4. Turn a burner to light it and adjust the temperature.

We also keep a small portable charcoal BBQ in the garage that you are welcome to carry down to the beach. Please bring your own charcoal.

Fire pit

1. Turn on the fire pit gas using the stainless dial behind the BBQ.
2. Light the fire pit using the white timer knob.

Bikes

Adult bikes are available in the garage, along with some kids scooters. The keys are in the blue lockbox, complete the bike responsibility waiver to get the code. Guests accept responsibility for bike use. Please lock the bikes back up before you check out.

Beach gear

Beach toys are in the garage, including a wagon, beach chairs and several beach games. Beach towels are in the hall closet, please use those rather than the bathroom towels.

Washer & dryer

The washer and dryer are in the garage, and we provide detergent for a few loads. For both machines: turn it on, pick your cycle, press start.

Bathrooms

There are two bathrooms, one with a tub, one with a shower. Each has a hair dryer, plus shampoo, conditioner and body soap.

Games

Kids board games are at the desk in the great room. There is also a ping pong table with paddles for four.

Desks & printer

There are two desks, one in the master bedroom, one in the great room. The printer is on the top shelf of the closet in the hall bedroom, and there is a step ladder in the garage if you need a boost.

The printer is plugged in and on the network, so you can send print jobs over WiFi once your device is connected, or use the HP Smart app.

Trash

Place trash in the bins on the side of the house. Trash day is Monday, but we have the can moving covered, a local service puts the cans out on Sunday and brings them back in on Monday. If the cans are already on the street, feel free to add to them.

House rules

• Absolutely no smoking inside the house.
• Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• No parties, gatherings, or professional video or photography events.
• Keep the garage shut when you are not using it.
• Keep the house locked when you are not home.

Check-out

Check-out is by 10:00 AM unless agreed otherwise. A later check-out is sometimes available for a fee, check with your host.

Before you go, please:

• Load the dishwasher and start it.
• Lock up the bikes if you used them, and return the keys to the blue key vault.
• If you used beach towels and there is detergent left, start a load of beach towels only.
• Take the trash out to the black bins on the side of the house.
• Return the garage remote.
• And the important one, lock all doors and windows, including the side gate, and close the garage.
