Where to stay for Comic-Con 2027: a family beach house
Comic-Con 2027 runs July 22 to 25 at the San Diego Convention Center. Crown Point Jewell is a three-bedroom family beach house on Mission Bay, a short drive from downtown, with beds for the kids, a full kitchen and a garage.
Comic-Con 2027 dates
Thursday, July 22 to Sunday, July 25, 2027, at the San Diego Convention Center downtown. Visit San Diego expects about 135,000 people. Dates are from the Visit San Diego event calendar, checked October 12, 2026, so confirm them on the event’s own site before you book.
A family beach house instead of a downtown hotel
A long day on the show floor is easier to recover from with a door to close, a bed for every kid and a kitchen of your own. Crown Point Jewell is a three-bedroom family house on Mission Bay, set up for exactly that.
- Beds for the family. A king in the master, a queen in the second bedroom, and a bunk room with two sets of twin-over-twin bunks. Two Pack 'n Play travel cribs and a high chair if there is a little one.
- A full kitchen. Gas range, dishwasher, an air-fryer microwave and a second refrigerator with an ice maker in the garage. Breakfast before the lines, dinner after, no restaurant wait.
- Parking. A garage for one car with an EV charger, a driveway spot, and free street parking.
- Air conditioning and heating in every bedroom and the great room, and a washer and dryer.
- The bay on foot. The sand is a couple of minutes' walk away, with the bay path alongside, and adult bikes and kids' scooters in the garage.
- A backyard to come home to, fenced, with a gas fire pit and a BBQ.
Up to 4 adults. The house sleeps 8, but only 4 of them can be adults: a king and a queen for the grown-ups, and a bunk room with four twin beds built for children. That makes it a good fit for a family going to Comic-Con and not a fit for a group of five or more adult friends. Traveling with more adults? Our second house, Wilbur By The Waves in north Pacific Beach, is a short drive away and sleeps up to 4 more adults.
Getting to the Convention Center
The San Diego Convention Center is downtown, a short drive south of Crown Point. On Comic-Con days the roads and garages around it are busy, so plan the trip in:
- Trolley. The San Diego Trolley stops at the Convention Center. Drive to a station and ride the last stretch to skip the downtown parking hunt. Routes and times at MTS.
- Rideshare. The simplest door to door. Pickup spots by the Convention Center are crowded at closing time, so walk a few blocks before you call a car.
- Driving and parking. Downtown parking fills early on show days. Reserve a garage space ahead if you can, and leave more time than the map says.
- Back at the house. A garage for one car with an EV charger, a driveway spot, and free street parking.
