Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon 2027 dates

Saturday, June 5 to Sunday, June 6, 2027. The expo is at the San Diego Convention Center, and Visit San Diego expects about 35,000 people there. Dates are from the Visit San Diego event calendar, checked October 12, 2026, so confirm race times and the course on the event’s own site before you book.

A quiet night before, the bay after

Race weekend is about sleep and food for the runner, and something to do for everyone else. The house is on a quiet residential street with quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

• Beds for the family. A king in the master, a queen in the second bedroom, and a bunk room with two sets of twin-over-twin bunks. Two Pack 'n Play travel cribs and a high chair if there is a little one.
• A full kitchen. Gas range, dishwasher, an air-fryer microwave and a second refrigerator with an ice maker in the garage. Cook the pasta dinner the way the runner likes it.
• Parking. A garage for one car with an EV charger, a driveway spot, and free street parking.
• Air conditioning and heating in every bedroom and the great room, and a washer and dryer.
• The bay on foot. The sand is a couple of minutes' walk away, with the bay path alongside, and adult bikes and kids' scooters in the garage.
• A backyard to come home to, fenced, with a gas fire pit and a BBQ.
• A flat path along the water for an easy shakeout walk the day before, or a slow ride on the house bikes the day after.

Getting to the Convention Center

The San Diego Convention Center is downtown, a short drive south of Crown Point. On race days the roads and garages around it are busy, so plan the trip in:

• Trolley. The San Diego Trolley stops at the Convention Center. Drive to a station and ride the last stretch to skip the downtown parking hunt. Routes and times at MTS.
• Rideshare. The simplest door to door. Pickup spots by the Convention Center are crowded at closing time, so walk a few blocks before you call a car.
• Driving and parking. Downtown parking fills early on show days. Reserve a garage space ahead if you can, and leave more time than the map says.
• Back at the house. A garage for one car with an EV charger, a driveway spot, and free street parking.

Race morning

Roads along the course close on race morning. Check the event’s course map and road closures before you plan the drive, and leave plenty of time. The trolley and a rideshare drop-off a few blocks from the start are both worth a look.
